Setting Up Additional Cashier Terminals (Local Network)

Run extra cashier tills on your local network.

If your shop has more than one cashier counter, you can run EVRST Invoice on several PCs that all share the same data. One PC is the Main Server; the others are cashier terminals that connect to it over your local network.

How it works

  • One PC is installed as Server / Standalone - it holds the database and runs the background server. This is your Main Server; it must be on for the tills to work.

  • Each additional PC is installed as Client Only - it shows the same app but stores no data of its own; everything lives on the Main Server.

  • All tills share customers, items, stock, invoices and reports in real time (each screen loads the latest data when it opens).

On the Main Server PC

  1. Run the installer and choose Server / Standalone.

  2. On the network page, tick "Allow other cashier terminals to connect to this PC over the local network." This opens the needed firewall rule.

  3. Note the port shown on the port page (3000 unless you changed it). The tills need to reach the server on that same port.

  4. Finish the install. Keep this PC switched on during business hours.

Give the Main Server a fixed local IP address (ask whoever set up your network) so the tills always find it at the same address.
The Main Server holds the only copy of your data. Back it up on that PC, not on the tills - a till has nothing of its own to lose.

On each cashier terminal PC

  1. Run the installer and choose Client Only.

  2. When it asks for the Main Server address, either type the server PC’s IP (for example 192.168.1.10) or leave it and use Search network on first launch - the app will find the server for you.

  3. Launch the app. The first time it connects, the terminal registers itself automatically.

If a terminal ever cannot reach the server, it shows a Connect to your server screen with Search network, Enter address, and Retry - no reinstall needed. While it is still searching, you can click Set up connection manually to jump straight to that screen rather than waiting for the search to finish.

How many terminals can I run?

Your license sets the number of terminals (tills) allowed:

  • A purchased license covers the Main Server plus five cashier terminals.

  • A free trial covers the Main Server plus one cashier terminal, which is enough to test that a second till works before you buy.

See Settings > License on the Main Server - it shows "Terminals: X of Y in use". The Main Server itself uses one of the seats, since it is a working till too. To add more tills than your license allows, contact support to raise the limit.

If a Till Will Not Let Anyone In

A terminal that reaches the server but is refused shows one of three messages:

  • Terminal limit reached - every seat on your license is in use. Free one up by deactivating a till you no longer use in Settings > Terminals, or contact support to raise the limit.

  • Terminal deactivated - someone deactivated this till in Settings. Restore it from Settings > Terminals on another PC.

  • Terminal not registered - the till has lost its registration, usually after a reinstall. Reconnecting from the setup screen registers it again.

Managing terminals

Go to Settings > Terminals (on any till) to:

  • See every registered terminal, when it was last seen, and which one you are on

  • Rename a terminal (e.g. "Front Counter", "Pharmacy Till")

  • Deactivate a terminal to free its license seat (it is blocked until restored)

Printers are per-terminal

Each till has its own receipt/label printers. Set them in Settings > Print & Paper under "Printers - this terminal". Document formats and policies (like whether to auto-print a receipt) remain company-wide and are shared by all tills.
