Build quotes and convert them to invoices.

A quotation (also called a proposal or estimate) is your formal offer to a customer before they commit to a purchase.

Creating a Quotation

  1. Click Quotations in the sidebar

  2. Click Create New

  3. Select customer and add line items (same process as invoices)

  4. Add notes, terms, or validity dates if needed

  5. Save and send to customer

Converting Quotation to Invoice

Once the customer accepts:

  1. Open the quotation

  2. Click Convert to Invoice

  3. The system creates an invoice with the same line items

  4. You can adjust pricing if needed before final save

This workflow keeps proposals and confirmed sales cleanly separated.

Frequently asked questions

What is a quotation used for?

A quotation, also called a proposal or estimate, is your formal offer to a customer before they commit to a purchase. Building it works the same way as an invoice, and you can add notes, terms, or validity dates.

Can I change the price when converting a quotation to an invoice?

Yes. Converting creates an invoice with the same line items, and you can adjust pricing before the final save. The quotation stays separate, so proposals and confirmed sales remain cleanly divided.
