Vouchers: Recording Money In and Out
Record money in and out with receipt, payment, expense, and journal vouchers.
Vouchers are your simple cash book. They record money moving that is not tied to a sales invoice: paying a bill, receiving cash, logging an expense, or making an accounting adjustment.

The Four Voucher Types

Receipt - money coming in (a deposit, a capital injection, a loan received)

Payment - money going out (paying a supplier, a cash refund handed over)

Expense - a running cost (rent, utilities, wages, fuel)

Journal - an accounting adjustment with no cash movement
Creating a Voucher

Click Vouchers in the sidebar

Click Create New

Choose the type

Enter the amount, date, payment method, and, if relevant, the contact it relates to

Add a description or reference for your records

Save
You can print or share any voucher, and the Vouchers report rolls them up into cash in, cash out, and net cash flow for the period.
| Vouchers are a standalone cash record. They never touch your sales, profit, or VAT figures, so they cannot double-count against an invoice. A supplier payment you already captured as a purchase invoice should not be re-entered as a payment voucher. |
